  3. Product managers have a secret weapon called the “Product Backlog.” It’s like a magical to-do list that holds all the potential features and enhancements for a product, waiting to be prioritized and brought to life.
  4. In the world of product management, there’s a famous saying: “Fall in love with the problem, not the solution.” This mindset encourages product managers to focus on understanding and solving customer pain points rather than becoming too attached to a particular solution.
  5. The product roadmap is like a treasure map for product managers. It guides them on the journey to create innovative products, detailing the milestones, features, and strategic direction needed to reach the product’s destination.
  6. Product managers are skilled multitaskers, often juggling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. They’re like the conductors of a symphony, harmonizing different teams and stakeholders to create a beautiful product experience.
  7. The term “pivot” isn’t just for dance moves. In product management, a pivot refers to a strategic shift in direction to explore a different market or adjust the product offering. It’s a way to adapt and find success even when the original plan needs a little shake-up.
  8. Product managers have a unique talent for speaking multiple languages. They fluently communicate with designers, developers, marketers, and executives, translating complex technical jargon into understandable terms for different stakeholders.
  9. The “Minimum Lovable Product” (MLP) is a delightful twist on the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Instead of focusing solely on functionality, the MLP aims to create a product that not only solves a problem but also delights and captivates users.

My journey from UX/UI designer to product management:

Once upon a time, in the vibrant month of September 2022, a passionate individual embarked on an exciting product journey. This journey began during their enrollment in an MBA program when they discovered a captivating course on UX/UI design offered by Coursera.

Eager to explore the world of user experience and interface design, she immersed herself in the course, acquiring invaluable knowledge and honing her creative skills. Fueling their curiosity further, she began following numerous inspiring professionals on LinkedIn, delving into their insightful posts and thought-provoking articles.

As she delved deeper into the world of UX/UI, a realization struck: the intersection of user experience and product management was a fertile ground for growth and innovation. She recognized that expanding their knowledge of UX/UI would serve as a powerful foundation for a future career in product management, where customer-centricity and seamless design played vital roles.

Driven by passion and determination, she secured not one but two internships, where she worked closely with seasoned product managers, absorbing wisdom, and contributing fresh perspectives. These internships allowed her to apply their UX/UI expertise in a practical setting, bridging the gap between design and product strategy.

And so, here she stands, with twelve live case studies under her belt, her mind brimming with valuable experiences and spirit ignited by the endless possibilities of the product landscape. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of seizing opportunities, embracing curiosity, and pursuing one’s passion.

As she continues her journey, she is poised to make a lasting impact, armed with UX/UI foundation, internships, and an unyielding drive to shape remarkable products that bring joy and value to users worldwide.
