A beautiful story of a friend
Sakshi had a unique childhood, growing up in a joint family and surrounded by her grandparents. She was always close to them and had fond memories of them. One of her sweetest memories was of her grandmother admiring her singing, even though she had never learnt to sing. Shakshi has an elder brother, a mother, and a father who was away frequently due to his work. But even with his absence, the family was very close and loved celebrating Diwali together. It was the most cherished festival, as the extended family all came together to celebrate. Shakshi was also very close to nature, as her grandparents were avid gardeners and had created a lush garden around the house. This only fueled her interest in nature, and she soon started to dream of becoming an agricultural scientist. She would often daydream about one day working in the field, helping to bring a better future for farmers. Shakshi’s childhood was full of memorable moments, and it is these experiences that shaped her into the person she is today. She cherishes the memories of her family, and the beautiful garden that surrounded her home. Her dream of becoming an agricultural scientist has yet to come true.
Sakshi has always been mature for her age, having had to juggle managing everyday tasks and taking care of her family. Her mother, being the eldest in the family, dedicated her life to her family, and Shakshi wants to make the most of the time they have together. She desires to travel with her mother, visiting all the temples that her mother loves and cherishes, as a way to make up for the times they weren’t able to spend together in the past. Shakshi’s family is incredibly proud of her responsibility and maturity.
As her father was away for work and her grandfather had passed away, while her brother had gone for higher studies, she chose to complete her B.Sc. in her hometown. With a dream to become an entrepreneur, she aims to help farmers by removing the middlemen between them and the ultimate customers to increase their profits. Moreover, she plans to engage people who have been sexually disabled and abused, victims of domestic violence as part of her business, to motivate them to achieve and lead a fulfilling life. After completing her MBA, she will then take steps to pursue her dream.
Sakshi has been on a journey of personal and professional growth since leaving home for the first time and moving to Delhi six months ago. During her time here, she has flourished in the company of her peers, becoming more self-assured and discovering new things about herself. Working as an intern at a company has also been a novel experience, affording her the opportunity to understand how organizations run smoothly. Shakshi feels honored to be a part of a product team, where she continues to gain hands-on experience and grow in her knowledge and skills. Shakshi occasionally feels overwhelmed by the new experiences and challenges she faces in Delhi, but she is learning to rise to the occasion. Despite the unfamiliarity of some things, she is taking each experience in stride and developing the resilience she needs to overcome them.
